This Privacy Policy explains how Velochron Network LLC ("Velochron", "we", "us", "our") collects, uses, and protects information when you use the Velochron application and related services (collectively, the "Service").

1. Information We Collect

1.1 Account Information

When you create an account, we collect:

  • Email address — used for authentication, account recovery, and service communications
  • Account credentials — stored in encrypted form; we cannot access your plaintext password

1.2 Device Information

We automatically collect:

  • Device identifier — a locally generated, hashed identifier used for device authentication and trial management; not your hardware serial number or advertising ID
  • Operating system and version — e.g., "Android 13", "Windows 11", "iOS 18"
  • App version — to determine update eligibility and troubleshoot issues

1.3 Usage Data

  • Traffic statistics — aggregate upload/download bytes for plan accounting; we do not inspect or log the content of your traffic
  • Connection status — connected/disconnected state, selected server node, routing mode
  • Basic error codes — connection failures, timeout counts for service reliability monitoring
  • Short-term connection metadata — for each outbound flow routed through our VPN servers, we retain in memory only (approximately 5 minutes per user, automatically purged by a ring buffer) the target hostname or IP, destination port, per-flow byte counters, and connection duration. Used exclusively for: (a) routing optimization — identifying popular destinations to improve split-routing heuristics and regional server placement; and (b) abuse detection — identifying and stopping use of the service for DDoS origination, credential stuffing, spam, port scanning, or other activities that violate our Terms of Service. This metadata is never persisted to disk, never combined with account records to build a personal browsing profile, never used for advertising or marketing, and never shared with or sold to third parties.

1.4 Customer Support Data

When you submit a support ticket through the in-app feedback system:

  • Your message — the text you write describing your issue
  • Device and connection context — automatically attached to help diagnose your issue (OS version, app version, current node, connection state)
  • Application logs — recent diagnostic logs (up to 240 entries) are automatically attached; these contain connection events, error messages, and performance metrics but do not contain browsing history, URLs, or personal content

2. Information We Do NOT Collect

We explicitly do not collect, store, or process:

  • Long-term browsing history or a persistent record of websites you visit
  • DNS query logs (we do not record DNS lookups)
  • Contents of your communications (emails, messages, page bodies, etc.)
  • Contacts, photos, files, or media on your device
  • Precise or coarse location data
  • Microphone or camera access
  • Activity on other apps or websites (no cross-app tracking)
  • Advertising identifiers (IDFA)

Note: short-term server-side connection metadata — including destination hostnames — described in §1.3 is not a "browsing history" in the sense above: it is held in memory only for ~5 minutes per user, never aggregated into a personal profile, never used for advertising, and never shared with third parties. It exists solely to keep routing efficient and to stop abusive traffic.

4. Data Sharing and Disclosure

  • We do not sell your personal data.
  • We do not share data with third-party advertising platforms.
  • We do not use your data for ad targeting or profiling.
  • We may disclose information only when required by applicable law or to protect the safety and integrity of the Service.

5. Data Storage and Security

  • Account credentials are stored using industry-standard encryption.
  • Authentication tokens on your device are encrypted before storage.
  • Temporary configuration files containing connection parameters are deleted immediately after use.
  • We apply reasonable technical and organizational safeguards, but no internet transmission is absolutely secure.

6. Data Retention

  • Account data — deleted within 30 days after account cancellation.
  • Traffic statistics — retained for the current billing cycle plus up to 90 days, then automatically purged.
  • Support tickets — retained for up to 1 year for service quality purposes, then deleted.
  • Diagnostic logs — stored only on your device (up to 240 entries); logs attached to support tickets are retained with the ticket.

7. Subscriptions and Payments

  • If you subscribe via Apple App Store, payment is processed entirely by Apple. We do not have access to your payment card or billing details.
  • Subscriptions auto-renew within 24 hours before the current period ends unless you cancel.
  • You can manage or cancel subscriptions at any time in Settings → Apple ID → Subscriptions.
  • If you subscribe via our website, payment is processed by our authorized payment provider.

8. Traffic Throttling

When your monthly traffic quota is exhausted, connection speed may be reduced to a lower limit as specified by your plan until the next billing cycle resets your quota. No additional charges are incurred for throttled usage.

9. Children's Privacy

The Service is not directed at children under 16. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe we have inadvertently collected such data, please contact us and we will promptly delete it.

10. Your Rights

You may:

  • Access and update your account information through the app
  • Change your password at any time
  • Bind or update your recovery email
  • Cancel your account and request data deletion
  • Submit a data access request by contacting us at [email protected]

11. International Data Transfers

Our servers are located in multiple jurisdictions. By using the Service, you consent to the transfer of your information to servers outside your country of residence. We ensure appropriate safeguards are in place for such transfers.

12. Policy Updates

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated "Last updated" date. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.

1.4 客户支持数据

当您通过应用内工单系统提交反馈时:

  • 您的消息 — 您描述问题的文字内容
  • 设备与连接上下文 — 自动附带以帮助诊断问题(操作系统版本、应用版本、当前节点、连接状态)
  • 应用日志 — 自动附带最近的诊断日志(最多 240 条);日志包含连接事件、错误消息和性能指标,但不包含浏览记录、网址或个人内容

2. 我们不收集的信息

我们明确不收集、存储或处理以下信息:

  • 长期浏览历史或持久保存的访问记录
  • DNS 查询日志(我们不记录 DNS 请求)
  • 您的通讯内容(邮件、消息、页面正文等)
  • 通讯录、照片、文件或设备上的媒体
  • 精确或粗略位置数据
  • 麦克风或摄像头访问
  • 其他应用或网站上的活动(无跨应用追踪)

4. 数据共享与披露

  • 我们不出售您的个人数据。
  • 我们不与第三方广告平台共享数据。
  • 我们不将您的数据用于广告定向或用户画像。
  • 仅在法律法规要求或保护服务安全与完整性所必需时,我们才可能披露信息。

5. 数据存储与安全

  • 账号凭证采用行业标准加密存储。
  • 设备上的认证令牌在存储前进行加密。
  • 包含连接参数的临时配置文件在使用后立即删除。
  • 我们采取合理的技术和管理保障措施,但互联网传输无法保证绝对安全。

6. 数据保留

  • 账号数据 — 注销后 30 天内删除。
  • 流量统计 — 保留当前计费周期加最多 90 天,之后自动清除。
  • 工单内容 — 为服务质量保留最多 1 年,之后删除。
  • 诊断日志 — 仅存储在您的设备上(最多 240 条);附在工单中的日志随工单一同保留。

7. 订阅与付款

  • 如您通过 Apple App Store 订阅,付款完全由 Apple 处理。我们无法访问您的支付卡或账单信息。
  • 订阅在当前周期结束前 24 小时内自动续订,除非您取消。
  • 您可随时在设置 → Apple ID → 订阅中管理或取消订阅。
  • 如您通过我们的网站订阅,付款由授权支付服务商处理。

8. 流量降速

当您的月流量配额用完后,连接速度将降至套餐规定的较低限速值,直到下一计费周期流量重置。降速使用不产生额外费用。

9. 儿童隐私

本服务不面向 16 岁以下儿童。我们不会故意收集儿童的个人信息。如您认为我们误收集了此类数据,请联系我们,我们将立即删除。

10. 您的权利

您可以:

  • 通过应用内功能查看和更新账号信息
  • 随时修改密码
  • 绑定或更新找回邮箱
  • 注销账号并请求删除数据
  • 通过 [email protected] 提交数据访问请求

11. 跨境数据传输

我们的服务器分布在多个司法管辖区。使用本服务即表示您同意将信息传输到您居住国以外的服务器。我们确保此类传输有适当的保障措施。

12. 政策更新

我们可能不时更新本隐私政策。变更将在本页面发布并更新"最后更新"日期。在变更后继续使用本服务即表示接受更新后的政策。
